‘Interfaith Certification’ is a proposed set of competency standards for practitioners of interfaith dialogue and cooperation. Such standards would include:
* Competency in a language primary to the practice of another religion (such as Arabic, Hebrew, or Hindi)
* A significant number of hours in supervised practical experience of interfaith engagement (such as volunteer or internship hours in a local interfaith organization)
* A significant period of time in an international or cross-cultural setting where a majority of the population practices a religion different from the student’s own.
A summative evaluation (thesis or project) integrating the program of study as well as relevant field experience, oriented to the student’s vocational goals.
